The Delhi High Court has once again postponed the hearing on the interim bail plea of former IAS trainee Pooja Khedkar, extending her relief from arrest until October 4. The delay comes as the lawyers involved in the case requested more time to present their arguments.
Earlier, during the September 5 hearing, Pooja Khedkar had expressed her willingness to undergo a disability evaluation at AIIMS. The Delhi Police, however, raised concerns, claiming that one of the two disability certificates she submitted during her UPSC examination is suspected to be forged.
The UPSC had previously accused Khedkar of submitting false documents, leading to her dismissal and a ban on future exams. UPSC also filed a petition, demanding action against her. In response, the court has issued a notice to Pooja, requiring her to file a reply by September 26.
The police investigation, detailed in a status report, revealed that one of Khedkar’s disability certificates was not issued by the Ahmednagar Medical Authority as claimed, suggesting forgery. The court has now scheduled the next hearing for October 4, with the investigation still ongoing.
