Patna: The Bihar government on Friday transferred 10 IPS, three IAS and three Bihar Police Service (BPS) officersin a major administrative reshuffle. The state government also assigned additional charges to three IAS officers and relieved two officers from their additional responsibilities.
Separate notifications in this regard were issued by the Home Department and General Administration Departmentof the Bihar government.
Komal Meena Appointed Rural SP, Patna
Among the key police postings, IPS officer Komal Meena has been appointed as Rural Superintendent of Police (SP), Patna.
In another significant appointment, 2018-batch IPS officer Puran Kumar Jha, who was awaiting posting at Bihar Police Headquarters, has been posted as SP, Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna.
Jha was earlier serving as Siwan SP when he was transferred to Police Headquarters following the firing of an AK-47 rifle during the Bihar Bandh in Siwan on July 25, amid protests over the alleged NEET paper leak.
2024-Batch IPS Officers Get Field Postings
The government has also made several postings involving 2024-batch IPS officers, giving them responsibilities as SDPOs in different districts.
The officers and their new postings are:
- Aniket Kumar Dwivedi (IPS: 2024) – SDPO-I, Jehanabad
- Deepti Monali (IPS: 2024) – SDPO, Jamui; transferred from ASP, Gaya
- Hemant Singh (IPS: 2024) – SDPO-I (Town), Bhagalpur; transferred from ASP, East Champaran
- Karthikeyan A K (IPS: 2024) – SDPO-II (Town), Muzaffarpur
- Ketan Ashok Ingole (IPS: 2024) – SDPO, Rajauli, Nawada
- Prasanna Kumar M V (IPS: 2024) – SDPO, Narkatiaganj, West Champaran
- Saeem Raza (IPS: 2024) – SDPO, Naugachhia
The reshuffle comes amid the government’s efforts to strengthen police administration and field-level supervision across districts.
IAS Officers Get New Responsibilities
The government has also effected changes involving three IAS officers, along with adjustments in additional charges.
Naveen Kumar, IAS (2011), presently serving as Special Secretary, Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department, has been given additional charge as Managing Director of BIADA.
He already holds additional responsibilities as the principal/secretary-level head of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) and as Managing Director of Bihar State Beverages Corporation.
Meanwhile, Industry Department Secretary Kundan Kumar has been relieved of his additional charge as Managing Director, BIADA.
Vivek Ranjan Maitrey, IAS (2017), who was transferred from the post of Additional Secretary, IPRD, has been appointed Director of Sports.
Another 2017-batch IAS officer, Anil Kumar, has been transferred from his position as Director, IPRD, and appointed Managing Director of Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited. He will continue to hold the additional charge of Managing Director, Bihar State Samvad Samiti.
Abhishek Palasiya, IAS (2020), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Road Construction Department, has been appointed Managing Director of Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.
Meanwhile, Shrikant Kundalik Khandekar, Joint Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, has been given additional charge as Joint Secretary, Industry Department, until further orders.
Three BPS Officers Also Transferred
The Home Department has also transferred three Bihar Police Service officers.
Kundan Kumar (BPS: 2007) has been posted as SP (Administration), Patna, while Sonu Kumar Rai (BPS: 2010)has been appointed SP (Rural), Vaishali.
Dilip Kumar (BPS: 2022) has been posted as SDPO, Triveniganj, Supaul.
The government has also cancelled the earlier order transferring Pankaj Kumar Singh to SDPO, Triveniganj, paving the way for Dilip Kumar’s posting to the position.
Major Administrative Reshuffle in Bihar
The latest orders cover police, civil administration and key state corporations, with officers being moved into field, departmental and institutional assignments.
The changes include district-level police postings, vigilance responsibilities, sports administration, industrial development, construction infrastructure and educational infrastructure, besides several adjustments to additional charges held by senior IAS officers.
