Tiger Warriors Honored: All India Tiger Monitoring Exercise Celebrated at WII

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. SP Yadav, Additional Director General (Protection, Training & Policy Enforcement) and Member Secretary of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Yadav lauded the collective effort that went into the ATIME, underlining its significance in understanding tiger populations and informing conservation strategies.

“The success of ATIME is a direct reflection of the unwavering commitment of the researchers and staff who braved challenging terrains and weather conditions. Their dedication, meticulous planning, and innovative approaches have set a new benchmark for wildlife monitoring in India,” Dr. Yadav emphasized.

WII Director Mr. Dhananjay Mohan congratulated the ATIME team, highlighting the institute’s unwavering commitment to tiger conservation. He shared insights into the meticulous scientific processes employed in the exercise, from camera trap deployment to data analysis and population estimation.

The ceremony was a poignant reminder of the immense efforts behind the scenes, often unseen, that contribute to tiger conservation. From forest officials battling poachers to researchers meticulously analyzing camera trap data, countless individuals dedicate their lives to safeguarding these majestic creatures.

The felicitation provided a platform to recognize individual contributions, with awards and certificates presented to those who played pivotal roles in the ATIME. The event also resonated with the hashtag #TigerConservation, echoing the broader call to action for protecting these endangered animals.

The All India Tiger Monitoring Exercise, conducted at regular intervals, is a crucial tool for assessing tiger populations across the country.
