Jharkhand Aviation Push: CM Hemant Soren’s Initiative Brings AME and Air Hostess Courses for Youth 

Jharkhand Flying Institute prepares to start Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and air hostess training programmes, making Jharkhand the first state in Eastern India to offer government-level aviation courses.

Ranchi: Jharkhand is set to become the first state in Eastern India to launch government-level training programmes in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and air hostess training. Under the initiative of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Jharkhand Flying Institute has completed preparations to start both aviation courses, which will be formally inaugurated in November during the state’s foundation day celebrations.

The move aims to create new career opportunities for youth in the aviation sector and reduce the shortage of skilled aviation professionals in the country.

Jharkhand Flying Institute Signs MoUs for Aviation Training Courses

The Jharkhand Flying Institute has signed agreements with specialised institutions for conducting the new courses.

For the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) programme, the institute has signed an MoU with M/s Veneur, Delhi.

For air hostess training, a partnership agreement has been signed with AISECT Limited, Bhopal.

The courses will be conducted at the existing infrastructure of the Jharkhand Flying Institute located in Dhanbad under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Government Aviation Courses to Benefit Youth Across Eastern India

According to the Jharkhand Government, the launch of these programmes will benefit students from Jharkhand as well as neighbouring states, including:

  • Bihar
  • West Bengal
  • Odisha
  • Chhattisgarh

Young aspirants will no longer need to travel to distant states for aviation-related training, which will help them save both time and expenses.

The government said that similar government-level aviation courses are currently not available in neighbouring states, making this initiative a significant step for the region.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course Details and Fees

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) programme will have 60 seats and will be a three-year course.The total course fee has been fixed at ₹6 lakh, which students can pay in three annual instalments of ₹2 lakh each.The course is expected to prepare skilled aviation engineers and help address the growing demand for aircraft maintenance professionals in India.

Air Hostess Training Courses, Seats and Fee Structure

The Jharkhand Flying Institute will offer two air hostess training programmes:

Six-Month Certificate Course

  • Seats available: 60
  • Course fee: ₹1,00,500

Twelve-Month Diploma Course

  • Seats available: 60
  • Course fee: ₹1,55,500

The training fee will include:

  • Uniform/dress
  • Grooming kit
  • Swimming training

The last date to apply for the air hostess training programme is July 30. Interested candidates can submit applications through the official website of the Jharkhand Flying Institute.

Courses to Begin After DGCA Approval

The aviation training programmes will begin after receiving approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The formal launch of both courses is scheduled for November during the Jharkhand Foundation Day programme, where Chief Minister Hemant Soren is expected to inaugurate the initiative.

PPP Model Will Ensure No Additional Financial Burden on Government

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course will be operated through a PPP model, with M/s Veneur responsible for running the programme. The government stated that the initiative will not create any additional financial burden on the state government or the Jharkhand Flying Institute.

Aviation Skill Development Push Under CM Hemant Soren’s Direction

Jharkhand Flying Institute Managing Director Captain S.P. Sinha said that all preparations have been completed following Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s instructions to provide new opportunities to youth in the aviation sector.

He said that the AME and air hostess training programmes will become a milestone for Jharkhand and will play an important role in creating skilled manpower for India’s aviation industry.

Captain Sinha added that the initiative aims to provide aviation career opportunities to young men and women while helping overcome the shortage of aviation engineers in the country.
