Bengaluru: The Karnataka government issued transfer and posting orders for two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers while also assigning a new posting to an officer who had been awaiting placement. The reshuffle, notified by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR), takes immediate effect for most postings and is aimed at strengthening district and municipal administration.

Ravi Kumar Appointed Deputy Commissioner of Kolar

As per the government order, Ravi Kumar M R (IAS:2012:KN), who is currently serving as Commissioner, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Bengaluru, has been transferred and appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Kolar district.

He will assume charge from August 1, 2026, succeeding Dr Ravi M R, IAS, who is scheduled to retire on July 31, 2026 upon attaining superannuation.

The appointment places Ravi Kumar at the helm of the Kolar district administration, where he will oversee governance, development projects, law and order coordination, and implementation of state welfare schemes.

He has been posted as Commissioner, Mangaluru City Corporation, with immediate effect. He replaces Ravichandra Nayak, KAS, who has been transferred.
