In a significant shake-up within the Maharashtra police force, the state government has announced the transfer of nearly two dozen senior officers, including Superintendents of Police (SP), Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), and IPS probationers.
Deputy Commissioner of Police and 2013 batch IPS officer Raj Tilak Roshan has been appointed as the Assistant Inspector General (Law and Order) at the Maharashtra police headquarters in Mumbai.
While, 2012 batch IPS officer Tejaswi Satpute, who previously served as a DCP in Mumbai, has been reassigned to Pune city.
Sandeep Singh Gill, formerly a DCP in Pune city, will now take on the role of SP (Pune Rural), succeeding Pankaj Deshmukh, who has been transferred to Mumbai.
2014 batch IPS officer Lohit Matani, who was recently moved from Bhandara to Mumbai, has been appointed as the DCP in Nagpur. Along with Matani, two other officers, Mahak Swami and Nithipudi Rashmita Rao from the 2020 batch, have also been appointed as DCPs in Nagpur.
Sudhakar Pathare, another key figure in the reshuffle, has been moved from his position as DCP in Thane city to a role within the Mumbai police.
Meanwhile, DCP Laxmikant Patil, who was the Principal of the Police Training Centre in Nagpur, has been transferred to serve as SP (Cyber).
Rohidas Pawar, who was previously stationed as a DCP in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, will now assume the role of DIG (Government Railway Police) in Pune.
Additionally, eight IPS probationers have been assigned to various districts as Sub-Divisional Police Officers, reflecting a broader effort to enhance policing at the district level.
