Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed senior officials to remain vigilant and proactive to ensure stronger law and order across Madhya Pradesh. During a comprehensive review meeting of the Home Department held at the Secretariat in Bhopal, the Chief Minister emphasized modernizing policing systems, enhancing women’s safety, improving cybercrime response, and strengthening infrastructure for future large-scale events like Simhastha 2028.
He also indicated that the state is seriously considering introducing an “investigation allowance” for officers involved in criminal investigations to support field-level operational expenses.
Strong Focus on Law and Order Across the State
The Chief Minister stressed that maintaining law and order is the top priority. He instructed that officers from senior ranks to constable level must remain alert and actively engaged in maintaining public safety.
Key directions included:
- Strict action against organized crime and property confiscation of criminals
- Strengthening informer networks for better intelligence gathering
- Ensuring swift response to crime scenes and improved investigation efficiency
- Greater coordination among police units for effective enforcement
The government also reiterated its commitment to making Madhya Pradesh safer and more disciplined through consistent monitoring and enforcement.
Women’s Safety and Protection Near Educational Institutions
A major focus of the meeting was women’s safety, especially around educational institutions. The Chief Minister directed that incidents of harassment or misbehavior near schools, colleges, and coaching centers must be prevented at all costs.
He emphasized:
- Zero tolerance for harassment of women and girls

- Strong preventive policing and surveillance

- VIP and VVIP security arrangements
- Disaster management preparedness
- Development of permanent infrastructure for control rooms and systems
He also highlighted the importance of integrated planning around major religious sites including the Mahakaleshwar Temple.

The state government is working on multiple reforms to modernize the police force. These include:
- Formation of a Police Selection and Recruitment Board
- Establishment of specialized training institutions for ATS, STF, and Hawk Force
- Deployment of Crime Scene Mobile Units at district level

- Expansion of police infrastructure through Housing Board initiatives
The Chief Minister also reviewed proposals for special allowances for officers engaged in VIP duty and investigation work.
