Srinagar: Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Monika Dhami has assumed charge as the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (PCIT) in Srinagar, becoming the highest-ranking officer of the Income Tax Department overseeing operations across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
A 2001-batch IRS officer of the Income Tax cadre, Dhami brings with her more than two decades of experience in tax administration, policy formulation, institutional training and public finance. Her appointment is expected to further strengthen taxpayer services, compliance mechanisms and stakeholder engagement in the region.
