Bhopal/Betul: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav began the second day of his two-day visit to Kukru, the scenic hill station in Betul district, with an early morning yoga session alongside local villagers, encouraging people to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. The Chief Minister also planted a Rudraksh sapling under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, inspected the region’s coffee plantation, interacted with women associated with self-help groups, and issued key directives to promote Kukru as a major tourism destination in the state.
Sharing photographs of the yoga session and plantation drive on social media, Dr. Yadav described yoga as India’s invaluable cultural heritage that brings balance, energy and positivity to life.
CM Performs Challenging Yoga Postures with Villagers
During the morning session, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed several advanced yoga postures, including Mayurasana (Peacock Pose) and Shirshasana (Headstand), demonstrating physical fitness and encouraging public participation in yoga.

He also practiced several traditional asanas along with local villagers, including:
- Tadasana
- Vrikshasana
- Trikonasana
- Bhadrasana
- Vakrasana
- Bhujangasana
- Shalabhasana
The yoga session also included breathing exercises and relaxation techniques such as:
- Nadi Shodhana Pranayama
- Bhramari Pranayama
- Titli (Butterfly Pose)
Scheduled Tribes Commission member Mangal Singh Dhurve and Betul Collector Dr. Saurabh Sanjay Sonawanewere also present during the session.

‘Make Yoga a Part of Daily Life’: CM
Following the yoga session, Dr. Mohan Yadav shared a message on social media highlighting the importance of yoga.
He wrote that he had practiced yoga with local villagers at Kukru and described yoga as a priceless legacy of India’s ancient culture that provides balance, energy and positivity to the body, mind and soul.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to make yoga an essential part of their daily routine to lead a healthy, empowered and disciplined life.
Rudraksh Plantation Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign
As part of the nationwide environmental initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, the Chief Minister planted a Rudraksh sapling at Kukru.
The plantation drive reflects the state’s commitment towards environmental conservation while promoting public participation in increasing green cover.

CM Inspects Coffee Plantation
Dr. Mohan Yadav also visited the coffee plantation at Kukru during his tour.
The inspection was aimed at understanding the region’s agricultural potential and exploring opportunities to further promote coffee cultivation as an income-generating activity for local farmers.
Interaction with Women Self-Help Group Members
On the first day of his visit on June 27, the Chief Minister visited the Krishna Aajeevika Self-Help Group managed by rural women.
He closely observed their livelihood activities, tasted Mawa and Rabri prepared by the group members, and appreciated their efforts towards financial self-reliance.
The Chief Minister interacted with the women regarding:
Their livelihood activities
Monthly income
Government assistance received
Business expansion plans
Implementation of livelihood schemes
He praised their entrepreneurial spirit and encouraged them to continue strengthening rural livelihoods through self-employment.
Government Assistance Strengthening Rural Livelihoods
During the interaction, Shobha Gayne, President of the Krishna Aajeevika Self-Help Group, informed the Chief Minister about the financial support received under various government schemes.
According to her, the group received:
- ₹3 lakh under the Cash Credit Limit (CCL)
- ₹1 lakh as Community Investment Fund (CIF)
- ₹11,000 as Revolving Fund (RF)
- ₹40,000 under the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme
The self-help group currently has 11 active women members.
She further informed that an automatic Mawa-making machine purchased through the Aajeevika Mission has significantly increased production and generates approximately ₹25,000 per month.
The women are engaged in:
- Agriculture
- Dairy farming
- Milk production
- Mawa manufacturing
- Rabri preparation
- Shrikhand production
Through these combined livelihood activities, each member earns approximately ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 per month, contributing to greater financial independence and women empowerment.

CM Appreciates Women’s Self-Reliance
Observing the Mawa production process, Dr. Mohan Yadav said self-help groups have become a strong pillar of the rural economy.
He stated that the Madhya Pradesh government remains committed to promoting women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship and self-employment by strengthening such livelihood initiatives across the state.
Visit to Sipna Sunset Point
The Chief Minister also visited the picturesque Sipna Sunset Point at Kukru.
He admired the breathtaking sunset, lush green forests, rolling hills and natural beauty of the region.
Impressed by Kukru’s scenic landscape, Dr. Mohan Yadav said the destination possesses enormous potential to emerge as one of Madhya Pradesh’s leading eco-tourism destinations.
Directives to Develop Kukru as a Major Tourism Hub
Recognising Kukru’s tourism potential, the Chief Minister issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials to accelerate tourism development in the region.
He directed authorities to:
- Promote eco-tourism activities
- Preserve Kukru’s natural heritage
- Improve tourism infrastructure
- Enhance visitor facilities
- Generate employment opportunities for local communities
Dr. Yadav said that sustainable tourism development would not only attract more visitors but also create new livelihood opportunities for local residents while preserving the area’s rich natural environment.
