Bhopal: On July 6, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Smart Industrial Park in Satgadhi, Bhopal. The event was held on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, marking what the Chief Minister described as a “historic milestone” for the state capital.
The project also includes a large-scale convention center and is being positioned as a transformative development for Madhya Pradesh’s industrial landscape.
Industrial Park Named After Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has a unique historical connection with national leaders like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He emphasized that the new industrial park, named after Dr. Mukherjee—India’s first Industry Minister—reflects the state’s commitment to honoring national legacy while advancing economic development.
According to the Chief Minister, the government “delivers what it promises” and is focused on building a strong industrial ecosystem under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Focus on Jobs, Farmers, Women, and Youth Empowerment
Dr. Yadav highlighted that the industrial park will directly benefit multiple sections of society:
- Thousands of employment opportunities for youth
- Growth in the garment sector benefiting cotton farmers
- Increased income opportunities for women
- Integration of agriculture with industrial development
He added that the government is working on a “farm-to-factory” model, connecting agriculture, industry, and markets to strengthen rural and urban economies together.
Officials estimate that the Satgadhi Smart Industrial Park alone could generate over 15,000 jobs.
Major Infrastructure and Strategic Location Advantage
The industrial park is being developed over approximately 70 hectares and is strategically located:
- Around 1.4 km from major highways
- Close to Rani Kamalapati Railway Station
- Approximately 25 km from Raja Bhoj International Airport
- Connected through upcoming western bypass infrastructure
Officials said the location will make it a key industrial hub, attracting both traditional manufacturing and new-age industries.
A modern convention center with a capacity of 10,000 people is also planned within the park, which will be among the largest in the state.

Investment Push and Global Interest in Madhya Pradesh
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s recent investment momentum, citing outcomes of the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal, which reportedly attracted investment proposals worth over ₹30 lakh crore.
He claimed that:

- 30% conversion of proposals into ground-level projects is a new record
- Over ₹86,000 crore in MoUs were signed recently
- ₹10,000 crore foreign investment has also been received
Industries from countries like the United States, Japan, the UK, Canada, and South Korea are reportedly showing interest in the state.

These projects are aimed at positioning Madhya Pradesh as a diversified industrial hub.
Women’s Welfare and Employment Integration
The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of women-centric development, referencing the Ladli Behna Yojana, under which more than ₹50,000 crore has reportedly been disbursed.
He also announced that women working in upcoming industrial units could receive additional monthly earnings support, emphasizing financial independence through employment.
Push Toward Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is moving toward implementing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC), aligning with the vision of “one nation, one law.”
He added that a committee had already taken suggestions from different communities to ensure inclusivity and fairness, and said the state is preparing to become one of the major states implementing such a framework.

Leaders Call It a Landmark Development
State Minister Krishna Gaur and MLA Rameshwar Sharma praised the initiative, stating that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a leading industrial state.
They highlighted that the park will strengthen sectors such as garments, manufacturing, and MSMEs, while also improving women’s employment opportunities.
A private investor, Sudhir Agrawal of Sagar Group, also announced an investment of ₹100 crore in the region.
Bhopal Emerging as New Industrial Identity Hub
The Satgadhi Smart Industrial Park is being positioned as a flagship project that will reshape Bhopal’s identity—from a lakeside capital to a modern industrial and investment destination.
With large-scale infrastructure, investment inflows, and job creation targets, the project marks a significant step in Madhya Pradesh’s long-term development strategy.
