NTPC Faridabad Partners with UPSIC to Promote Menstrual Health Among School Girls 

Initiative includes sanitary napkin vending machines, eco-friendly incinerators and distribution of 15,000 sanitary napkins to adolescent school girls.

Ghaziabad: NTPC Faridabad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation Ltd (UPSIC), Ghaziabad, to promote menstrual health, hygiene and overall wellness among adolescent school girls.

The initiative aims to create a supportive menstrual health ecosystem within schools by providing access to sanitary products, vending facilities and safe menstrual waste disposal solutions.

Key Features of the NTPC-UPSIC Initiative

Under the partnership, selected schools will receive menstrual hygiene infrastructure and sanitary products for adolescent students.

The major components of the initiative include:

  • Automated sanitary napkin vending machines will be installed in selected schools.
  • Modern, eco-friendly incinerators will be provided for the safe disposal of menstrual waste.
  • 15,000 sanitary napkins will be distributed directly to student beneficiaries.

Focus on Menstrual Health and Dignity

The initiative seeks to integrate menstrual health infrastructure into the public education system and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for adolescent girls.

By improving access to sanitary products and appropriate disposal facilities, the programme aims to:

  • Promote menstrual hygiene and health awareness.
  • Support menstrual dignity among adolescent girls.
  • Improve access to essential menstrual hygiene products.
  • Encourage safe and environmentally responsible disposal of menstrual waste.
  • Contribute to a more inclusive school environment.

NTPC’s Focus on Community Development

The MoU reflects NTPC Faridabad’s continued focus on community health, social development and welfare through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The partnership with UPSIC combines menstrual health infrastructure with direct distribution of sanitary products, creating an end-to-end approach to menstrual hygiene management within participating schools.
