State-run power giant NTPC Limited has appointed senior engineer Harsh Ahuja as its new Executive Director as part of a significant reshuffle in the company’s senior management structure.
The appointment became effective on June 8, 2026, and was formally disclosed through regulatory filings submitted to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Ahuja’s elevation is part of NTPC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its core operational framework, particularly in procurement, contract management and supply chain logistics—areas critical to the smooth functioning of India’s largest power generation company.

Harsh Ahuja brings over 35 years of extensive experience within NTPC.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate, he joined the company on October 26, 1990, and has since served across multiple strategic and operational divisions.
Over the years, he has built deep expertise in backend systems, industrial procurement, logistics management and vendor ecosystem development.
Extensive Experience Across Key Functions
During his long tenure, Ahuja has handled several critical verticals, including:
- Contracts & Materials (C&M): Managing large-scale procurement and bidding frameworks
- Unified Shared Service Centre (USSC): Streamlining logistics and supply chain operations
- Vendor Development Cell: Strengthening NTPC’s supplier network and quality standards
- Fuel Handling & Material Tracking: Ensuring uninterrupted fuel logistics and operational efficiency
His cross-functional experience is expected to support NTPC’s expanding operational and infrastructure needs.
Appointment for Fixed Tenure
According to NTPC’s official disclosure, the appointment has been made for a tenure of approximately 0.67 years, or around eight months, in line with the company’s retirement and service rotation policies.
The filing was signed by NTPC Company Secretary Ritu Arora.
