New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Mr. Sunil Prasad, currently serving as Deputy General Manager (Production) at National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), for the post of Director (Technical) at Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL).
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 57/2026, held on July 10, 2026, after the board interviewed three senior executives from leading public sector enterprises. The appointment is subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
PESB Selects Sunil Prasad for Director (Technical) Post
The PESB conducted interviews for the Director (Technical) position at Madras Fertilizers Limited on Friday and recommended Mr. Sunil Prasad as the most suitable candidate for the role.
Sunil Prasad currently serves as Deputy General Manager (Production) at National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) and has extensive experience in fertilizer production, plant operations, and technical management. His expertise is expected to strengthen MFL’s operational capabilities and support its future growth initiatives.
Three Senior Executives Interviewed by PESB
Before making its recommendation, the PESB interviewed the following candidates:
- Mr. Amboor Madhan Mohan – General Manager (Plant) and F&A, Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL)
- Mr. Sunil Prasad – Deputy General Manager (Production), National Fertilizers Limited (NFL)
- Mr. Simanchal Acharjya – General Manager (Technical) & Head (REPM), IREL (India) Limited
Following a detailed assessment of the candidates’ professional experience, leadership abilities, technical expertise, and vision for the organization, the board selected Sunil Prasad for the position.
Appointment Subject to ACC Approval
While PESB has recommended Sunil Prasad for the Director (Technical) post, the appointment will become official only after receiving approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which is the final authority for appointments to senior positions in Central Public Sector Enterprises.
Once approved, Sunil Prasad will join the board of Madras Fertilizers Limited and lead the company’s technical and production functions.
