Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Friday carried out a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring and assigning new responsibilities to seven IAS officers and four PCS officers across various departments and public sector undertakings.
According to orders issued by the Department of Personnel, all officers have been directed to assume charge of their new assignments with immediate effect.
The reshuffle includes important additional charge assignments to senior IAS officers, appointments in key departments, and postings in state corporations.
Arshdeep Singh Thind Given Addl Charge of Water Supply and Sanitation
Among the key changes, Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Water Supply and Sanitation.
The move places him in charge of one of the state’s most critical infrastructure and public health departments.
Kamal Kishore Yadav Gets Addl Charge of Forests and Wildlife Preservation
Kamal Kishore Yadav (IAS: 2003) has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Forests and Wildlife Preservation.
Yadav is a senior officer with extensive administrative experience and will now oversee the state’s forest conservation and wildlife protection initiatives in addition to his existing responsibilities.
Amit Talwar Named Nodal Officer for Drugs and Census
Amit Talwar, IAS, has been designated as the Nodal Officer for matters relating to Drugs and Census.
The assignment is considered significant in view of Punjab’s continued efforts to strengthen anti-drug initiatives and improve data-driven governance.
Other Key IAS Appointments
The reshuffle also includes several important postings:
- Parminder Pal Singh, IAS appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training
- Gautam Jain, IAS posted as Managing Director, Punjab Health Systems Corporation
- Jasbir Singh, IAS appointed as Managing Director, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation Limited
- Pallavi Mishra (IAS: 2023) appointed as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Kalanaur
Pallavi Mishra was available for posting and will replace Ravinder Singh, PCS, who was holding the additional charge of SDM Kalanaur.
4 PCS Officers Also Transferred
