CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Approves ₹171 Crore for Roads, Champawat City Center and Dehradun Traffic Projects

Major development push in Uttarakhand as funds allocated for road construction in Bageshwar, Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal, ₹62.33 crore approved for Champawat City Center, and ₹33.45 crore sanctioned to improve traffic in Dehradun.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved ₹171 crore in financial assistance to accelerate infrastructure development and key public projects across Uttarakhand.

The approved funds will be used for road construction, urban infrastructure, renovation of guest houses, and traffic management improvements in several districts of the state.

Road Construction in Multiple Districts

Under the state plan, several road construction and improvement projects have been sanctioned:

  • ₹3.35 crore for construction of the Satratve–Sigi Nargol via Girechina Milan motor road in Bageshwar.
  • ₹3.75 crore for improvement of the Kalimath–Kotma–Jal–Chaumasi motor road in the Kedarnath area of Chamoli.
  • ₹4.27 crore for construction of the Paiyagarhi Rajbau Malla Diyod motor road in the Pauri Garhwal region.

In addition, ₹12.15 crore has been approved for hot mix road work on the Kimtoli–Raushal motor road in the Lohaghat area of Champawat.

Modern City Centre Planned in Champawat

To strengthen urban infrastructure, the government has sanctioned ₹62.33 crore for the construction of a modern multi-storey parking and shopping complex (City Centre) at the Roadways Station in Champawat.

Funds for Lakhwar Project and Guest House Renovation

The state government has also approved ₹50.25 crore for the financial year 2025–26 for the construction of the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project.

Additionally, ₹1.60 crore has been sanctioned for civil and electrical renovation of 12 rooms on the second floor of the Uttarakhand Sadan located in New Delhi.

₹33.45 Crore to Improve Traffic in Dehradun

With traffic congestion increasing in the capital city, the government has approved ₹33.45 crore for six projects aimed at improving the traffic system in Dehradun.

These initiatives are expected to ease congestion and streamline urban mobility.

Roads to Be Named After Martyrs

The Chief Minister has also approved proposals to name several motor roads after martyrs and freedom fighters across the state.

These include roads named after:

  • Shaheed Subedar Bhawani Dutt Joshi in Almora
  • Freedom fighter Khim Singh in Chamoli
  • Meharban Singh Rawat in the Badrinath area
  • Tularam Thapliyal in the Karnaprayag region

Digital Empowerment Meet Approved

The Chief Minister has also approved the 5th Digital Empowerment Meet & Awards – Uttarakhand Chapter, which will be held in Dehradun on March 23–24.

The theme of the event will be “Digital Transformation of Uttarakhand through AI – Towards Viksit Bharat 2047.” The meet will focus on promoting technology, digital governance, and innovation in the state.
