New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) reported its highest-ever revenue of more than ₹1.09 lakh crore in FY2025-26, alongside record crude steel, finished steel and saleable steel production, at its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday.
SAIL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. A.K. Panda presented the company’s annual performance and strategic priorities at the AGM held in hybrid mode at the Central Secretariat Officers’ Institute (CSOI), New Delhi.

Vande Bharat Wheels, Navy Ships Among Key Deliveries
SAIL highlighted several strategic supplies made during the financial year.
The company dispatched its first consignment of indigenously developed Vande Bharat train wheels and supplied steel for five Indian Navy vessels commissioned during the year — INS Arnala, INS Udaygiri, INS Himgiri, INS Androth and INS Anjadeep.
The deliveries were highlighted by SAIL as part of its contribution to infrastructure, defence and other national requirements.
Revenue Crosses ₹1.09 Lakh Crore
SAIL reported revenue of more than ₹1,09,000 crore in FY2025-26, representing an 8% increase over the previous year.
The company said it reduced borrowings by more than ₹5,000 crore through fund management measures. With higher sales volumes, lower inventory and reduced borrowings, SAIL reported improvements in profitability.
Its profit before tax (PBT) rose 44%, while profit after tax (PAT) increased 50.5% during the financial year.
The Board has recommended a final dividend of ₹2.35 per equity share.
SAIL Expands Green Power Plans
The steelmaker also outlined its renewable-energy initiatives.
SAIL generated 5.61 million units of green power from the first 4 MW floating solar plant at its IISCO Steel Plant. A 20 MW floating solar plant is under development at the Bhilai Steel Plant.
In addition, the company said 278.5 MW of solar projects are under consideration across its plants.
Panda said SAIL’s future strategy would include greater adoption of low-carbon technologies alongside green capacity creation, digitalisation and increased production of value-added and special steels.
Capacity Target Set at 35 MTPA
SAIL plans to expand its crude steel production capacity to around 35 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by FY2030-31.
The company said the expansion strategy will focus on:
- Green capacity creation and low-carbon technologies
- Digital enablement
- Greater customer engagement
- Higher production of value-added and special steels
- Deeper integration with retail and MSME ecosystems
Panda said the strategy was aligned with SAIL’s contribution to Viksit Bharat 2047 and the objectives of the National Steel Policy.
