  • Rajesh Kumar Das

They will be inducted into the IAS against vacancies allocated to the Tripura cadre and will remain on probation until further orders.

Promotions Cleared Under IAS Appointment Regulations

The appointments were made under the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, in consultation with the Tripura government.

According to the notification issued from New Delhi on May 25, the promotions are subject to the outcome of pending legal matters related to seniority and promotion disputes.

Promotions Linked to Pending Legal Cases

The notification mentioned that one case related to seniority is currently pending before the Supreme Court, while another matter regarding IAS promotions in the Tripura cadre is being heard by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Guwahati Bench.

Despite the legal proceedings, the Centre has proceeded with the appointments under existing provisions.

Administrative Strengthening Expected in Tripura

The induction of six experienced TCS officers into the IAS is expected to strengthen Tripura’s administrative machinery and improve governance delivery across departments.
