Lucknow: In a major administrative development ahead of the new year, the Uttar Pradesh government has promoted 52 IPS officers across various batches. The promotions were finalized in the meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), attended by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, DGP Prashant Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Home Deepak Kumar, and Principal Secretary Appointment M. Devraj.

The promotions span across the 2000, 2007, 2011, 2012, and 2021 batches, with several officers advancing to key positions in the state’s police force:

Officers Promoted to Additional Director General (ADG)

Among the officers of the 2000 batch, three prominent figures have been elevated to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADG):

  • Lakshmi Singh, the current Police Commissioner of Noida
  • Neelabhja Chaudhary, Chief of the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS)
  • Prashant Kumar II, Inspector General (IG) of Lucknow Range

12 Officers from the 2007 Batch Promoted to IG

In a significant move, 12 IPS officers from the 2007 batch were promoted from the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to Inspector General (IG). These include:

  • Ravi Shankar Chhabi, DIG Headquarters
