LUCKNOW/NOIDA: In the aftermath of violent labour unrest in Noida, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an interim hike of approximately 21% in minimum wages for workers across the state. The decision was taken late Monday night following recommendations of a high-powered committee constituted to address the issue.
The revised wage structure will come into effect from April 1, 2026, and aims to provide immediate relief to workers while the government works on a long-term wage revision framework through a proposed Wage Board.

According to reports, the unrest escalated significantly, with incidents of vandalism, arson, and road blockades across Noida and Greater Noida. The situation prompted the state administration to issue a statewide alert.
