Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s ODOP Marketing Development Assistance (MDA) Scheme is helping artisans, entrepreneurs and MSMEs take their traditional products beyond local markets by supporting participation in fairs, exhibitions and buyer-seller meets.
Support for Domestic Fairs
Under the scheme, eligible ODOP producers participating in fairs and exhibitions within India can receive 75% of stall charges up to ₹50,000. The government also provides 75% of freight or transportation costs up to ₹7,500, along with third AC train fare or AC bus fare for one person.
The assistance aims to reduce the cost burden on small producers travelling to markets outside their home districts.

Assistance for International Markets
For foreign fairs and international-level exhibitions organised in India, eligible participants can receive 75% of total expenditure up to ₹75 lakh, subject to the participation of at least 20 units.
The scheme also supports Export Promotion Councils and authorities organising craft festivals, seminars, workshops, buyer-seller meets and market studies. Under this provision, 75% of actual expenditure up to ₹1 crore can be provided.
Who Can Apply?
The scheme covers artisans, entrepreneurs and MSMEs producing ODOP-specific products across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Support is available for both domestic and international marketing activities.
Applicants need documents such as identity proof, age proof and, where applicable, caste or disability certificates.
Applications can be submitted through the DI UP portal.
Expanding Market Access
The scheme seeks to address a key challenge faced by small producers: reaching buyers beyond their traditional markets. By reducing exhibition, transportation and travel costs, the government aims to give ODOP producers greater opportunities to showcase their products, connect with buyers and expand into national and international markets.
