Inauguration by CM Nitish Kumar

The memorial stupa and museum were inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on July 29, 2025. Spanning 72 acres, the stupa is entirely constructed from sandstone, incorporating 42,373 sandstone blocks. Modern earthquake-resistant techniques were used in its construction to ensure that the structure remains stable and preserved for thousands of years.

Enhancing Visitor Experience

The museum displays include eight auspicious symbols, Tara Mudra exhibits, and Lichhavi-era artifacts. Sculptural works and the Ashokan pillar display are progressing rapidly. In addition, all structures have been designed to withstand seismic activity, ensuring the long-term safety and preservation of the site.
