Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 138th episode of Mann Ki Baat at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Lamkanhar village of Antagarh development block in Kanker district.
The Prime Minister’s mention of Chhattisgarh’s “Har Ghar Munga–Ghar Ghar Munga” campaign during the programme was welcomed by the Chief Minister, who described the recognition as a matter of pride for the state.
During his visit, CM Sai also highlighted the progress being made in areas affected by Left-Wing Extremism and announced development works worth ₹85 lakh for Lamkanhar.
PM Modi Praises Chhattisgarh’s ‘Har Ghar Munga’ Campaign
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the “Har Ghar Munga–Ghar Ghar Munga” campaign during the 138th episode of Mann Ki Baat.
The initiative, run by the Chhattisgarh Women and Child Development Department, encourages people to plant moringa trees and include moringa in their daily diet as part of efforts to combat malnutrition.
CM Sai said the Prime Minister’s repeated recognition of public-participation initiatives from Chhattisgarh provides encouragement to people involved in such efforts.
He urged villagers and students to plant moringa trees at their homes and spread awareness about its nutritional benefits.
Nutritional Importance of Moringa
Moringa is readily available and is considered an important source of nutrients. Its leaves, fruits and flowers are used as food and contain nutrients including iron.
The campaign aims to encourage greater community participation in improving nutrition and supporting the state’s efforts against malnutrition.

Mann Ki Baat Covers Nutrition, Environment and Vocal for Local
During the 138th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed several issues of national importance.
The topics included:
- India’s policy against terrorism
- Citizen participation in the Census
- Preservation of cultural heritage
- Cleanliness
- Environmental protection
- De-addiction
- Promotion of sporting talent
- Nutrition
- Vocal for Local
The Prime Minister also highlighted September as Poshan Maah, dedicated to efforts against malnutrition, and cited initiatives being undertaken in different parts of the country.
Chhattisgarh Innovations Featured in Mann Ki Baat
CM Sai noted that Chhattisgarh’s community-driven initiatives have been mentioned and appreciated in Mann Ki Baat on several occasions.
These include:
- Bastar Pandum
- Bastar Olympics
- The historic copper plate discovered in Malhar
- Korea district’s 5% water conservation model
- Har Ghar Munga–Ghar Ghar Munga
The Chief Minister said such initiatives demonstrate how community participation and locally developed solutions can contribute to wider social and developmental change.
Korea’s 5% Water Conservation Model Highlighted
CM Sai also referred to Korea district’s 5% water conservation model, which was developed in response to local requirements with community participation.
Under the model, farmers arrange water conservation facilities on around 5% of their agricultural land. The stored water can subsequently be used for irrigation when required and can also contribute to improving groundwater levels.
According to the Chief Minister, such local initiatives demonstrate how small-scale efforts can become the foundation for broader development when communities participate actively.
CM Sai Says Kanker Region Moving Towards Peace and Development
Speaking about the region, CM Sai said areas of Bastar and Kanker had remained affected by Left-Wing Extremism for several decades.
He said security forces and local residents, along with support from the Central Government, have contributed to the state’s efforts towards ending Left-Wing Extremism.
According to Sai, areas that once faced an atmosphere of fear and insecurity are now witnessing greater emphasis on peace, confidence and development.
He said the government is working to ensure that the benefits of development reach the last village and the last person.
Development Priorities in Remote Areas
The Chief Minister highlighted the expansion of:
- Education
- Healthcare
- Roads
- Drinking water
- Communication facilities
- Employment opportunities
- Other basic infrastructure
He also said the state is receiving continued support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government for development initiatives in Chhattisgarh.
CM Announces ₹85 Lakh Development Works for Lamkanhar
During the visit, CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced development works worth a total of ₹85 lakh for Lamkanhar.
The announced projects focus on education, infrastructure and community facilities.

- ₹15 lakh for construction of a community hall near the Sheetla Temple
- ₹37 lakh for construction of primary and middle school buildings
- ₹18 lakh for construction of a CC road in Chhote Para
- ₹15 lakh for a library and laboratory at Eklavya Model Residential School, Lamkanhar
CM Sai said the state government is working to strengthen education and basic infrastructure in remote and tribal areas.
He added that providing children with better educational environments and modern facilities remains a priority.
CM Sai Plants Guava Sapling Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’
After the Mann Ki Baat programme, CM Sai planted a guava sapling at the Eklavya Model Residential School campus under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
He urged people to plant more trees and ensure their regular care and protection.
Sai said environmental conservation is a shared responsibility of both the government and society, adding that every tree planted today contributes to creating a cleaner and safer environment for future generations.
MP Bhojraj Nag and MLA Vikram Usendi Attend Event
School students and villagers also listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme at the Lamkanhar campus.
MP Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Vikram Usendi, public representatives, government officials, school students and a large number of villagers were present during the programme.
