The visit marked a major push toward infrastructure expansion, industrial growth, and cultural revival in the region.

The Chief Minister said the projects reflect the “double engine government’s” commitment to accelerating development, generating employment opportunities, and improving the standard of living in the district.

₹955 Crore Development Push for Azamgarh

During the event, CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects valued at approximately ₹955.40 crore. These initiatives cover multiple sectors including infrastructure, public services, and urban development.

He said Azamgarh, once neglected in earlier regimes, is now witnessing rapid transformation under the current government’s policies.

Focus on Education, Connectivity, and Infrastructure Growth

The Chief Minister highlighted that before 2017, Azamgarh lacked key development milestones such as:

  • A fully functional university
  • The Purvanchal Expressway
  • Proper airport connectivity
  • Institutional support for local art and culture

He added that these gaps are now being addressed, with improved infrastructure and better connectivity boosting the region’s overall growth.

Revival of Local Art, Culture, and Handicrafts

CM Yogi emphasized the revival of Azamgarh’s traditional industries and cultural heritage, including:

  • Saree industry of Azamgarh
  • Black pottery of Mubarakpur
  • Musical tradition of Hariharpur

He noted that artisans and craftsmen are now receiving better recognition and market access, leading to increased income opportunities.

Welfare Schemes for Poor, Farmers, Women, and Youth

The Chief Minister stated that the government is working without discrimination to uplift all sections of society. He highlighted ongoing welfare initiatives including:

  • Housing for the poor
  • Toilets and sanitation facilities
  • Electricity access for all households
  • Strengthening security systems

He said these efforts are ensuring dignity and improved living standards for millions across the state.

Strong Attack on Opposition Parties

In his address, CM Yogi criticized previous governments for neglecting development, employment, and security. He said Uttar Pradesh is now progressing rapidly under the leadership of Narendra Modi, and is gaining global recognition.

He also alleged that earlier regimes failed to provide proper platforms for industries and local crafts, resulting in economic stagnation in regions like Azamgarh.

Remarks on Social Conduct and Political Opponents

CM Yogi strongly condemned derogatory remarks against women, stating that disrespectful language toward daughters is unacceptable in society.

Referring to recent controversies, he said strict action was taken when inappropriate comments came to light and stressed that dignity toward women must be upheld at all times.

He also advised opposition leaders, particularly the Samajwadi Party leadership, to guide their supporters toward maintaining respectful public discourse.

Call for Continued Support to “Double Engine” Government

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister appealed to the public to support ongoing development efforts. He said Azamgarh is steadily progressing toward becoming a hub of education, industry, tourism, culture, and employment opportunities.

He assured that the government’s focus on inclusive and sustainable development will continue in the coming years, further strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory.
