Delhi Launches Jan Kalyan Camps Across 42 Locations to Boost Access to 21 Government Welfare Schemes

Indian Masterminds Stories

New Delhi: In a major public outreach initiative aimed at expanding access to welfare schemes, the capital city has begun organizing Jan Kalyan Camps across multiple locations. The campaign is designed to ensure that benefits of both Central and Delhi government schemes reach a larger population without requiring repeated visits to government offices.

The initiative was formally inaugurated at the MCD Community Hall in Sansad Vihar, where Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the welfare camp as part of a citywide rollout.

Campaign Organized Across 42 Locations in Delhi

As part of the ongoing initiative, welfare camps are being held at 42 different locations across Delhi from June 18 to June 20. These camps aim to provide citizens with a single-window platform for accessing information, registration, and services related to multiple government schemes.

Officials stated that the program is part of a broader outreach effort to bring governance closer to the people under the “government at your doorstep” model.

Focus on PM Modi’s 12-Year Governance Milestone

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the camps are being organized to mark 12 years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting themes of service delivery, good governance, and public welfare.

She emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to simplifying access to welfare benefits and reducing administrative hurdles for citizens.

One-Stop Access to 21 Key Government Schemes

According to the Chief Minister, the camps are offering direct access to 21 major welfare schemes, ensuring citizens can receive services and information at a single location.

Key services being provided include:

  • Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme information and registration
  • Widow and Old Age Pension Scheme services
  • Lakhpati Didi Scheme awareness and enrollment
  • Information under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative
  • MCD house tax-related services
  • Delhi Jal Board service assistance
  • BSES solar energy scheme information
  • HIV awareness campaigns and related support services

Officials noted that the goal is to simplify access and ensure eligible beneficiaries are able to connect with relevant schemes without bureaucratic delays.

Leadership Highlights Citizen-Centric Governance Approach

Delhi Deputy Mayor Monica Pant also participated in the event and said that BJP workers are actively contributing to spreading awareness about the achievements of the Prime Minister’s 12-year tenure and its welfare programs.

She added that grassroots participation is crucial in ensuring that government schemes reach every eligible household.

“Government at Your Doorstep” Initiative

The organizers stated that the Jan Kalyan Camps are part of a larger effort to make governance more accessible and citizen-friendly. By bringing multiple services under one roof, the initiative aims to:

  • Reduce dependency on government offices
  • Improve awareness of welfare schemes
  • Increase enrollment of eligible beneficiaries
  • Strengthen last-mile service delivery

Appeal to Citizens

Authorities have urged residents of Delhi to visit their nearest welfare camp during the three-day program. Citizens are encouraged to gather information, complete registrations, and avail themselves of eligible benefits under various government schemes.

The campaign is expected to play a significant role in improving public engagement with welfare programs and strengthening direct service delivery mechanisms across the capital.
