Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated two modern security buildings constructed at a cost of over ₹9.18 crore for strengthening security arrangements in the Gorakhnath Temple area of Gorakhpur. The initiative aims to enhance policing efficiency, response systems, and overall security infrastructure in the region.
Integrated Security Complex to Strengthen Temple Area Safety
The newly developed facilities house multiple key units under one roof, including the office of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police, a control room, police store room, and a maintenance workshop.
CM Yogi stated that the integration of all essential security functions in a single premises will improve coordination, operational efficiency, and quick response capabilities of the security system.
‘Security is the First Pillar of Good Governance’: CM Yogi
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said that security is the first requirement of good governance. He emphasized that every citizen deserves safety, and the government is continuously working in this direction.
He added that policing is not just about recruitment but also about proper training and infrastructure development to ensure effective law enforcement.
Major Police Reforms Since 2017 Highlighted
CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted major reforms in the police system since 2017. He said that over 2.19 lakh police personnel have been recruited in the last nine years, addressing large-scale vacancies in the force.
He also noted a significant improvement in training capacity, which has increased from around 3,000 personnel at a time earlier to nearly 60,000 at present due to upgraded infrastructure and planning.
Improved Training and Infrastructure for Police Force
The Chief Minister said that earlier, lack of training facilities and infrastructure limited police efficiency. He emphasized that modern upgrades have transformed the system, enabling better preparedness and faster response.
He added that timely decisions and investments have made the police force nearly 200 times more equipped than before.
Better Housing Facilities for Police Personnel
CM Yogi pointed out that earlier police personnel often faced poor living conditions, with inadequate housing and barracks. Many had to live in rented accommodations under difficult circumstances.
He said the government has now ensured proper residential facilities in every police line, significantly improving the living standards and morale of personnel.
Stronger Law and Order Through Modern Facilities
The Chief Minister said that earlier, police stations lacked proper detention and operational facilities, which often created challenges in handling criminals.
He stated that improved infrastructure now ensures better control over law and order situations, and criminals can no longer easily escape custody.
No Attacks on Police Stations Possible Now: CM Yogi
CM Yogi asserted that modern police stations are now fully equipped and secure, making attacks or disruptions impossible.
He added that adequate police deployment and improved infrastructure ensure that law enforcement personnel remain alert and capable of handling any situation effectively.
Public Welfare and ‘Janata Darshan’ Interaction
Before the inauguration, the Chief Minister also conducted a ‘Janata Darshan’ at Gorakhnath Temple, where he heard public grievances from various districts.
He directed officials to ensure timely and effective resolution of all complaints, reinforcing the government’s commitment to responsive governance.
Significance of the New Security Buildings
CM Yogi said that the newly constructed security buildings will not only strengthen the security of the Gorakhnath Temple area but also support specialized forces such as the National Security Guard.
He added that this infrastructure model aligns with the vision of good governance and contributes to the broader goal of a developed India.
