New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the premature repatriation of two senior officers — B. Kasiviswanathan and Ajay Kumar — to their respective parent cadres. The decision has been taken to enable both officers to avail promotion-related benefits in their original services.
The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
B. Kasiviswanathan Repatriated from Cochin Port Authority
B. Kasiviswanathan, a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), has been repatriated from his post as Chairperson (Joint Secretary level) of the Cochin Port Authority under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
The proposal for his repatriation was forwarded by the concerned ministry and approved by the competent authority.
Officials said the move will allow him to return to his parent cadre and become eligible for promotion benefits.

Ajay Kumar to Return from Ex-Servicemen Welfare Department
In a separate order, the ACC also cleared the premature repatriation of Ajay Kumar, a 1993-batch officer of the Indian Posts & Telecommunications Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TA&FS).
He was serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare.
The proposal for his repatriation was submitted earlier by the department and has now been formally approved. He will now return to his parent cadre under the Department of Telecommunications to avail promotion-related benefits.
Administrative Reshuffle Under Cadre Management System
Officials said the decisions are part of routine cadre management and administrative restructuring involving senior bureaucrats on central deputation.
Such premature repatriations are typically approved to ensure officers do not miss key career progression opportunities in their parent services.
The orders were signed by Annies Kanmani Joy, Director in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
