As many as 16 IPS officers have been mandated to stay in the DGP’s office every day as they await fresh postings. Wary of these persistent doldrum, some of these officers have gone on leave. Reports suggest that three officers have taken leave for two three days due to a long weekend and the festivity of ‘Varalakshmi Vratham.’ It is learnt that a few senior officers have applied to the General Administration Department for long-term leave!
Despite the Andhra DGP Mr. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao’s (1989 batch IPS officer) order asking the concerned officers to come to the police headquarters at 10 am every day and sign the attendance list, several officers did not comply. The officers were mandated to come to the DGP’s office at 10 a.m. every day and sign the attendance list and then stay in the office till the end of duty hours every evening and go out again only after signing.
The concerned IPS officers are: PSR Anjaneyulu, Krishna Kanth Patel, P Parameshwar Reddy, P V Sunil Kumar, N Sanjay, Kanthi Ratan Tata, K Raghuram Reddy, R N Ammi Reddy, Vijaya Rao, Vishal Gunni, KKN Anburajan, Y Ravi Shankar Reddy, Y Rishanth Reddy, K Raghuveera Reddy, G Pala Raju, and P Joshua.
This development comes in the backdrop of allegations made by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he claimed that 27 IAS and 24 IPS officers were being sidelined without postings for reasons “best known” to the local NDA government. It is pertinent to mention that as many as 11 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers ‘close’ to former CM Jagan are also being forced to await posting.
