In a recent development following the transition to the TDP-led NDA state government, sixteen IPS officers, including senior officials, have been instructed to report daily to the Director General of Police (DGP) office.

This order, issued on August 12 and made public today, mandates that these officers sign an attendance register at the DGP office at 10 am and before leaving at the end of the workday.

The list of officers affected by this directive includes two officers at the DG rank—P.S.R. Anjaneyulu and P.V. Sunil Kumar—one Additional DG-rank officer, N. Sanjay, and three IG-rank officers: Kanthi Rana Tata, G. Pala Raju, and Kolli Raghu Ram Reddy. The order also encompasses other senior officers such as R.N. Ammi Reddy, Ch. Vijaya Rao, Vishal Gunni, K.K.N. Anburajan, Y. Ravi Shankar Reddy, K. Raghuveera Reddy, P. Parameswara Reddy, P. Joshua, and Krishna Kanth Patel.

This move comes in the wake of accusations from the new government alleging that several of these officers were aligned with the previous YSRC government and were involved in legal actions perceived to be unfavorable to the TD and opposition leaders during the YSRC regime.

A notable inclusion in the list is Y. Rishanth Reddy, the former Chittoor Superintendent of Police, who faced allegations of favoring the YSRC government during an incident involving Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Angallu in Chittoor district.

The TDP leadership has criticized Reddy and other officers for their roles in alleged politically motivated actions.

The directive emphasizes the need for these officers to remain available for any assignments and to maintain regular attendance as they await new postings. This measure reflects the current administration’s approach to reorganizing the police force and addressing past grievances.

The DGP office’s new order highlights the ongoing adjustments and political shifts in the state’s administration following the recent elections. The affected officers are expected to comply with these instructions while awaiting further developments regarding their assignments.
