Araria: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced several major development initiatives for Araria district, including the proposed Farbisganj Airport and Araria Medical College, while reiterating the state government’s zero-tolerance policy against criminals and infiltrators.
Addressing the Sahyog Camp organised at the Panchayat Government Building campus in Haripur Panchayat of Forbesganj block, the Chief Minister said the objective of these camps is to provide quick, transparent and effective solutions to public grievances.
He said the government is reaching villages directly to resolve citizens’ issues and ensure timely justice for people.
Over 4.25 Lakh Public Complaints Resolved Through Sahyog Camps
CM Samrat Choudhary informed that a large number of public complaints have been addressed through the Sahyog Camp initiative.
According to the Chief Minister:
- Total applications received across Bihar: 4,53,062
- Applications resolved: 4,25,660
In Araria district:
- Applications received: 7,130
- Resolved cases: 6,845
- Pending cases: 285
In Haripur Panchayat:
- Applications received: 259
- Resolved cases: 245
- Pending cases: 14
The Chief Minister said notices have been issued to concerned officials to ensure accountability in pending cases.
He also announced that on the second Tuesday of every month, he will personally review unresolved cases in Patna, including matters where applicants are dissatisfied with the decisions taken.

Private Vehicles Exempted from State Highway Toll Tax
Clarifying the state government’s toll policy, CM Choudhary said there should be no confusion regarding toll collection on state highways.
He announced that:
- Private vehicles will not be charged toll tax
- Only commercial vehicles will be required to pay toll charges
The Chief Minister also highlighted the government’s electricity initiatives, stating that Bihar is providing 125 units of free electricity to eligible consumers.
He added that families generating additional electricity through solar energy will receive direct financial benefits transferred to their bank accounts.
Araria Medical College and Forbesganj Airport Projects Announced
The Chief Minister announced major infrastructure projects aimed at improving healthcare and connectivity in the region.
He said:
- Land is available for the Araria Medical College and Hospital
- The foundation stone will be laid soon
- Land has also been made available for Forbesganj Airport
- Construction work on the airport is expected to begin in the next financial year
These projects are expected to strengthen healthcare facilities, transportation networks and economic development in the district.
Major Road Infrastructure Projects Underway in Araria Region
CM Samrat Choudhary also highlighted several ongoing infrastructure projects, including:
- Gorakhpur-Siliguri Four-Lane Highway
- Kosi-Mechi Link Project
- Bairgachhi-Sikti Road Project
- Taxganj-Sukela Bypass
- Subhash Chowk Railway Over Bridge (ROB)
The government aims to improve connectivity and support regional development through these projects.
Zero Tolerance Policy Against Crime and Infiltration Continues
Reiterating the government’s strict approach towards law and order, the Chief Minister said Bihar’s zero-tolerance policy against criminals and infiltrators will continue.
He said special attention is being given to strengthening security in border areas.
According to the Chief Minister:
- Around 735 km of border area has been secured
- 194 Border Out Posts (BOPs) have been established
He said maintaining law and order and protecting border regions remain top priorities for the state government.
Education Facilities to Expand Across Bihar
The Chief Minister announced several initiatives in the education sector.
He said:
- Remaining 213 blocks of Bihar will get degree college facilities by July 15
- Model schools will be established in all 534 blocks
- Coaching facilities will be introduced in rural government high schools
The measures are aimed at improving access to quality education for students in rural areas.
Women Empowerment and Employment Support Schemes Expanded
Highlighting women welfare initiatives, CM Choudhary said the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme has helped economically strengthen 1.81 crore women across the state.
He assured that beneficiaries who have not yet received financial assistance will receive payments within the current month.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also distributed symbolic approval letters and cheques to beneficiaries under various government schemes.
Government Focuses on Development and Public Welfare
The Sahyog Camp highlighted the Bihar government’s focus on improving public services, expanding infrastructure, strengthening security and supporting vulnerable sections of society.
With projects like the Forbesganj Airport, Araria Medical College, road development initiatives and welfare schemes, the government aims to accelerate economic growth and improve living standards across the region.
