150 MW Solar Park Planned in Aurangabad
The Energy Department also highlighted the proposed 150 MW solar park in Aurangabad district, which will be developed by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
For the project:
- Around 500 acres of land has been identified.
- A No Objection Certificate (NOC) has already been provided to SECI.
- The state government has requested that work on the project should begin on priority.
The solar park is also planned as a part of the broader Green Energy Corridor initiative in Bihar.
Solar Panel Plan for 10 Lakh Kutir Jyoti Consumers
The Bihar government has also proposed expanding rooftop solar benefits for Kutir Jyoti electricity consumers.
The state has around 58 lakh Kutir Jyoti consumers, but approval has so far been received for only around 2.5 lakh consumers.
The Energy Department has submitted a proposal to install 1.1 kW solar panels at the homes of 10 lakh consumers in the first phase.
The initiative aims to increase household-level renewable energy adoption and provide affordable electricity solutions to rural and low-income families.
Bihar’s Push Towards Clean Energy Future
Through the Green Energy Corridor, solar parks, battery storage systems, and rooftop solar initiatives, Bihar is moving towards expanding its renewable energy infrastructure. The proposed projects are expected to improve power availability, strengthen transmission networks, create clean energy opportunities, and support the state’s long-term sustainability goals.
