As part of a significant reshuffle within Bihar’s police force, Kamyaa Misra, a 2019 batch IPS officer, has been reassigned to the Bihar Police Headquarters, where she is currently awaiting a new posting as Superintendent of Police.
It is worth noting that she had resigned from her post as the Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) in Darbhanga on August 6, 2024, citing personal reasons. However, her resignation was not accepted by the headquarters, and instead, she was granted 180 days of leave starting in November 2024.
Ms Misra has earned widespread respect for her dedication and effective service, earning the nickname “Lady Singham” in Bihar for her tough approach and remarkable achievements in law enforcement.
Originally from Odisha, she completed her graduation (BA) from Delhi University. After that, she cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt at the age of 22 and was initially assigned to the Himachal Pradesh cadre. In 2021, she transferred to the Bihar cadre on marriage ground, where she continued to demonstrate exemplary leadership.
Her husband, Avdhesh Saroj Dixit, also a 2019 batch IPS officer, currently serves as the Superintendent of Police in Gopalganj, after previously holding the position of City SP in Muzaffarpur. The couple, both highly respected within the service, married in 2021.
Her tenure in Darbhanga was marked by her outstanding contributions to law and order, earning her considerable praise. While her future posting remains uncertain, her dedication to the state’s policing remains evident, and her contributions will continue to be remembered by both the department and the people of Bihar.
