New Delhi: As India approaches its 78th Independence Day, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a special initiative to celebrate the spirit of freedom, digital inclusion, and self-reliance. The telecom PSU has launched the ‘Freedom Plan’, offering one month of free 4G services to users for just ₹1, encouraging citizens to experience India’s indigenously developed telecom technology.

What the Freedom Plan Offers

The limited-period ₹1 plan includes:

  • Unlimited voice calls (Local & STD)
  • 2 GB high-speed data per day

  • Free BSNL SIM card

The plan is valid for 30 days, giving users a full month to evaluate BSNL’s Make-in-India 4G network without any cost constraints.

CMD Speaks: “A Made-in-India Network for Every Indian”

Speaking on the launch, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director A. Robert J. Ravi said:

With BSNL’s 4G—designed, developed, and deployed under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative—we’re putting India on the global map of countries that have built and deployed their own telecom stack. The ‘Freedom Plan’ allows every Indian to experience this indigenous network for free, and we’re confident they’ll feel the BSNL difference.”

He further added that BSNL is in the process of deploying 100,000 4G sites across the country using Make-in-India technology, further enhancing affordable, secure, and high-quality mobile services.

Where and How to Avail the Plan

To get started with the BSNL Freedom Plan, users can:

  • Visit the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre (CSC)
  • Approach a BSNL-authorised retailer or distributor
  • Call the BSNL Toll-Free Helpline: 1800-180-1503

Users will receive a free SIM card, and the ₹1 offer will be activated on the spot.
