New Delhi: In a decisive move against corruption and administrative negligence, the government has approved action in 15 separate cases involving 28 officers and employees across various departments. These include prosecution, suspension, and pension-related penalties, reinforcing the state’s commitment to accountability and good governance.

13 Officers to Face Prosecution in Corruption Cases

The government has greenlit the prosecution of 13 officers in three major cases involving corruption and misuse of office. The approval clears the path for formal legal proceedings, subject to final approval from the Chief Minister. These cases involve bribery, financial misconduct, and regulatory violations.

Two RAS Officers Suspended for Bribery and Misconduct

In a strong administrative response, two Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers have been suspended for accepting bribes and violating official norms. Their actions were found to be in clear breach of service conduct rules, prompting swift disciplinary action.

Departmental Charges for SDO and Tehsildar Over Poll Negligence

In another case, the government has initiated departmental proceedings against a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and a Tehsildar for negligence during election duties. Charge sheets will be issued under Rule 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958.

Pensions Withheld in 7 Corruption Cases

In a landmark decision to deter future misconduct, the government has ordered that

  • The entire pension of two officers be withheld following corruption convictions.
  • A proportionate pension deduction be applied to five officers found guilty in other cases.

These penalties stem from judgments delivered after thorough departmental and judicial reviews.

Forced Retirement and Disciplinary Action for Absenteeism and Overreach

A government employee has been forcibly retired due to chronic absenteeism and failure to perform official duties. Additionally

  • An RPS (Rajasthan Police Service) officer will face disciplinary action under Rule 34, following the dismissal of his review petition by the Chief Minister.
  • A principal has been penalized under Rule 17-CCA for exceeding jurisdiction and breaching administrative protocols.

Post-Retirement Investigations Lead to Governor-Level Review

Some cases involving retired officials were investigated post-retirement. Based on the findings, files have been forwarded to the Governor for approval, particularly where pension and service benefits are under review.

Key Highlights

28 officers/employees face action in 15 cases.

  • 13 officers to be prosecuted for corruption.
  • 7 pensions impacted—2 fully withheld, 5 partially.
  • 2 RAS officers suspended for bribery.
  • SDO & Tehsildar to face charges for election duty lapses.
  • Forced retirement of one employee.
  • Governor’s approval sought in post-retirement probes.
