MHA Transfers 3 IPS, 2 DANIPS Officers from Chandigarh; Vineet Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Sharma Posted to UT

Among the key transfers, Manjit (IPS:2015:AGMUT), who was serving at the Chandigarh Police Headquarters, has been transferred to Delhi.

Chandigarh: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has carried out a significant reshuffle in the Chandigarh Police, transferring three IPS officers and two DANIPS officers from the Union Territory while posting an equal number of officers to Chandigarh as part of the latest AGMUT cadre transfers.

The reshuffle affects senior police leadership, including officers handling the cyber cell, operations, vigilance and city policing.

Three IPS Officers Transferred Out of Chandigarh

Among the key transfers, Manjit (IPS:2015:AGMUT), who was serving at the Chandigarh Police Headquarters, has been transferred to Delhi.

His wife, Geetanjali Khandelwal (IPS:2015:AGMUT), who was heading the Cyber Cell and Operations Cell, has also been posted to Delhi.

Meanwhile, K.M. Priyanka (IPS:2021:AGMUT), who was serving as Superintendent of Police (City), has been transferred to Jammu & Kashmir.

Chandigarh Gets Three New IPS Officers

To fill the vacancies, the MHA has posted three IPS officers to Chandigarh.

They include:

  • Vineet Kumar (IPS:2018:AGMUT), transferred from Delhi.
  • Rajesh Kumar Sharma (IPS:2014:AGMUT), transferred from Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Patil Swagat Rajkumar (DANIPS:2018), transferred from Delhi to Chandigarh.

The new officers are expected to assume charge shortly.

Two DANIPS Officers Shifted to Delhi

The reshuffle also includes the transfer of two DANIPS officers from Chandigarh.

  • Vikas Sheokand (DANIPS:2014) has been transferred to Delhi. He was posted in the Cyber Cell and was also holding the additional charge of the Operations Cell.
  • A. Venkatesh (DANIPS:2014) has also been transferred to Delhi from the UT Vigilance Department.

The MHA has also posted Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra (DANICS:2021) to Chandigarh from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The officer joins Chandigarh as part of the broader administrative reshuffle across the AGMUT cadre.

The transfers are part of the MHA’s wider AGMUT cadre reshuffle aimed at strengthening police and civil administration across Delhi, Chandigarh and other Union Territories.
