Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has reaffirmed that the state government’s top priority is to combine education with cultural values and moral upbringing. He stated that the government is working to blend Indian knowledge traditions with modern education to ensure holistic development of students.

The statement was made during a meeting in Raipur where several prominent saints and spiritual leaders met the Chief Minister and expressed their support for the initiative.

Saints Welcome Revival of Cultural and Spiritual Education in Schools

A group of respected saints and spiritual leaders, including representatives from various religious institutions, met the Chief Minister at his residence in Raipur. Return of Traditional Prayers and Moral Education in Schools

The saints highlighted that earlier school education included practices such as:

  • “Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara” mantra
  • Shanti Path (peace prayers)
  • Saraswati Vandana
  • Food-related Sanskrit mantras

They said these traditions helped instill discipline, values, and moral character in students but gradually disappeared over time.

The renewed focus, they said, will help reconnect students with India’s cultural roots.

Emphasis on Holistic Student Development

According to the spiritual leaders, integrating cultural practices into education will contribute to:

  • Moral and ethical development
  • Discipline and positive behavior
  • Cultural awareness and identity
  • Overall personality development

They welcomed the initiative as a meaningful step toward strengthening India’s traditional knowledge systems.

Government’s Vision: Education with Values and Character Building

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that education is not only about academic learning but also about shaping character and values.

He emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring students receive both:

  • Modern education aligned with global standards
  • Cultural and spiritual grounding rooted in Indian traditions

He added that inclusion of prayers and value-based practices in schools will help develop confident, disciplined, and socially responsible citizens.

Strengthening Indian Knowledge Tradition in Schools

The Chief Minister said the initiative aims to revive India’s ancient educational philosophy by integrating:

  • Indian cultural heritage
  • Spiritual values
  • Ethical teachings
  • Traditional practices in school environments

This approach is expected to strengthen students’ connection with their roots while preparing them for modern challenges.

The meeting between Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and spiritual leaders marks an important step toward reshaping school education in Chhattisgarh. By combining modern learning with Indian cultural and spiritual values, the government aims to create a balanced education system focused on knowledge, discipline, and character building.
