Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle in the Forest and Climate Change Department by transferring seven Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers and assigning them new responsibilities across the State Minor Forest Produce Federation, Forest Development Corporation and key wildlife establishments.
Issued on administrative grounds, the transfer order assigns several officers fresh postings while entrusting others with additional responsibilities. According to the government, the postings of the first three officers in the transfer list will take effect from July 31, 2026.
Sanjita Gupta Gets Charge of Minor Forest Produce Federation
Among the prominent changes, Sanjita Gupta has been appointed as the Managing Director (In-charge) of the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce (MFP) Federation.
Meanwhile, S. Venkatachalam has been posted on deputation as the Executive Director of the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Federation.
The appointments come as the state continues to strengthen its forest-based livelihood programmes and the functioning of institutions dealing with minor forest produce.
Amarnath Prasad Gets Additional Charge of Forest Development Corporation
Senior IFS officer Amarnath Prasad will continue as Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department.
In addition to his existing responsibilities, he has been entrusted with the additional charge of Managing Director, Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation, further consolidating leadership in the state’s forestry administration.
Key Changes in Wildlife and Tiger Reserves
The reshuffle also includes important appointments in Chhattisgarh’s protected areas and wildlife management.
Gurunathan N. has been appointed as Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) (In-charge) and Field Director of the Udanti-Sitanadi Tiger Reserve.
Similarly, Pranay Mishra has been posted as Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) (In-charge) and Field Director of the Guru Ghasidas Tiger Reserve. He has also been given the additional charge of Project Elephant, strengthening the state’s wildlife conservation leadership.
Abhishek Kumar Singh Recalled from Deputation
Abhishek Kumar Singh has been recalled from deputation and posted as Conservator of Forests in the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force.
The appointment places him in a key administrative role within the state’s highest forest management office.
Ramesh Kumar Jangde Posted to Forest Development Corporation
Ramesh Kumar Jangde has been appointed as Regional General Manager (In-charge) of the Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation, where he will oversee regional operations of the corporation.
