Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has warmly welcomed the central government’s decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Kharif crops, calling it a historic measure to boost farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy. The announcement is expected to provide substantial benefits to farmers across the state and the country.
MSP Hike for 14 Kharif Crops
The Chief Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved an MSP increase for 14 Kharif crops, including paddy, for the marketing year 2026-27. CM Sai emphasized that this move ensures that farmers get a fair and remunerative price for their produce, further supporting their livelihood and economic stability.
Strengthening Farmers’ Confidence and Respect
According to CM Vishnu Deo Sai, the increase in MSP for paddy not only enhances farmers’ income but also strengthens their confidence and dignity. He added that the Chhattisgarh government continues to purchase paddy at the highest rate in the country, Rs 3,100 per quintal, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the agricultural community.

The Chief Minister noted that record procurement of paddy in the state is a direct result of farmer-friendly policies and effective government intervention.
