New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar laid the foundation stone of the new Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Headquarters building in New Delhi on June 22, 2026. The event also saw the inauguration and dedication of multiple infrastructure projects worth ₹136.03 crore, aimed at strengthening the force’s operational, training, and welfare capabilities.
The programme was held at the CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, and was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
New CISF Headquarters to Become Operational Nerve Centre
The upcoming CISF Headquarters building is being constructed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) at an estimated cost of ₹75.78 crore.
Once completed, the nine-storey modern facility will function as the central hub for administrative, operational, and strategic decision-making of the force. It will include:
- Office of the Director General CISF
- Control room and operational command units
- Conference and meeting facilities
- Auditorium and library
- Gymnasium and modern staff amenities
The new structure is expected to significantly enhance coordination and efficiency in managing India’s expanding industrial security ecosystem.

Multiple Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated at NISA and Tamil Nadu
Along with the foundation stone ceremony, several completed projects were inaugurated and dedicated to the nation, including:
- Subordinate Officers’ Mess (Aditya) at National Industrial Security Academy (NISA), Hyderabad – ₹34.22 crore
- Advanced Training Building (Abhyas) at NISA, Hyderabad – ₹20.53 crore
- Subordinate Officers’ Quarters at 4th Reserve Battalion, Amravatipuram, Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu – ₹5.50 crore
These projects are expected to improve training standards, residential facilities, and operational readiness of CISF personnel.
Welfare Measures for CISF Personnel and Families
During the event, financial and welfare assistance was extended to CISF personnel and their families. Key initiatives included:
- ₹1 crore financial assistance under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme for families of deceased personnel
- Distribution of customized motorable wheelchairs for differently-abled dependent children of CISF personnel
- Support initiatives implemented through Sanrakshika and the State Bank of India (SBI) collaboration
These measures underline the government’s focus on the social security and welfare of Central Armed Police Forces personnel.
Government Commitment Towards CAPF Welfare Highlighted
In his address, Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar reiterated the government’s commitment towards improving the welfare of CAPF personnel under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
He highlighted several initiatives including:
- Ayushman CAPF and CAPFIMS for cashless healthcare
- CAPF e-Awas portal for transparent housing allocation
- Compassionate disability policy ensuring dignity and continued service benefits
- Project MANN for mental health support
- Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar for financial relief and welfare support

CISF Expands Role in Emerging Security Domains
Director General CISF Praveer Ranjan highlighted the evolving nature of security threats and the force’s preparedness to handle modern challenges such as cyber attacks, drone threats, and digital sabotage.
He noted that CISF is expanding its operational footprint in several new areas:
- Recognized Security Organisation (RSO) status under ISPS Code for port security audits
- Security responsibilities in high-security correctional facilities in Jammu & Kashmir
- Strengthening protection of critical infrastructure and India’s Blue Economy
Technology-Driven Security Enhancements
CISF is also advancing its capabilities in technology-driven security, including:
- Development of RTC Behror as a Centre of Excellence for drone and anti-drone systems
- Designation as nodal agency for anti-drone security of critical infrastructure
- Collaboration with IIT Madras Pravartak, National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), and C-DAC for cyber security training
These initiatives aim to modernize CISF into a technology-enabled security force.
Women Empowerment in CISF
In a major step towards gender inclusion, the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the formation of the first all-women CISF Reserve Battalion at Nuh, Haryana, comprising 1,024 personnel. This initiative is seen as a landmark move in strengthening women’s participation in national security roles.

The ceremony also holds symbolic importance as India moves closer to the 150th anniversary year of Vande Mataram, reflecting CISF’s continued role in national service, infrastructure protection, and nation-building.
