Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted an on-site inspection of the under-construction R.K. Ashram Metro Station, part of the ambitious Metro Phase-4 project, on Saturday. She reviewed the ongoing work carried out by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and instructed officials to ensure the project is completed within the scheduled timeline.

CM Gupta emphasized that the Delhi Metro is not just a transport system but the lifeline of the capital, relied upon by millions of commuters every day. She made it clear that quality and safety standards will not be compromised at any stage of construction.

Detailed Review of Construction Progress

During her inspection, CM Gupta held a high-level meeting with senior DMRC officials at the R.K. Ashram Metro Station. The discussion covered:

  • Progress of Phase-4 corridors
  • Current challenges in construction
  • Future passenger amenities and connectivity

Ensuring Timely Completion and Passenger Convenience

The Chief Minister instructed officials that all Phase-4 corridors must be completed within the set deadlines to provide relief to Delhi residents as soon as possible. She highlighted:

  • Minimizing inconvenience to nearby residents and pedestrians during construction
  • Designing seamless connectivity for passengers to switch lines or exit stations easily

Phase-4: A Step Towards a Developed Delhi

CM Gupta described Phase-4 as a revolutionary step towards a modern and developed Delhi, designed to meet the city’s growing population and future transport needs. The R.K. Ashram Metro Station is set to become a key interchange hub connecting the Blue Line and Magenta Line, significantly reducing travel time between central and north Delhi.

Commitment to Transparency and Modern Public Transport

Ending her inspection, the CM emphasized the need for complete transparency in all work processes. She assured that the government will continue regular on-ground reviews to ensure project efficiency.

The Delhi government is committed to building a world-class public transport system to reduce dependence on private vehicles and control pollution levels, making the capital cleaner and more sustainable.
