Former CBI Director, Uma Shankar Mishra passed away at a private hospital in Delhi on Thursday. According to sources, Mr. Mishra was suffering with some old-age ailments for the past few days. He was 77 years old.
Mr. Uma Shankar Mishra, a 1968 batch Odisha cadre IPS officer, headed the CBI for from December 6, 2003 to December 6, 2005. After retirement, he was also a guest editor of an Odia vernacular daily in 2009.
A condolence meeting was held in regard to Mr. Mishra’s demise by the IPS Officers’ Association, Odisha on Thursday under the chairmanship of IPS officer Sri Abhay, DGP of Odisha.Related Stories
