New Delhi: The Monsoon Session of Parliament 2026 will begin on July 20 and continue until August 13. During this session, the Central Government plans to introduce seven important bills covering income tax, the Supreme Court, MSMEs, birth registration, national honour, foreign funding, and education reforms.

According to information shared by government officials and the Lok Sabha legislative agenda, two pending bills and five new bills are expected to be taken up. An all-party meeting has also been called on July 19 to discuss the government’s legislative plans.

Before the session begins, the government has scheduled an all-party meeting on July 19. Such meetings are held before every Parliament session to discuss the agenda and encourage smooth functioning of both Houses.

List of 7 Bills Expected in the Monsoon Session of Parliament 2026

The government plans to prioritize two pending bills and introduce five new bills.

1. Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment (FCRA) Bill, 2026

This bill proposes changes to the law that regulates foreign donations received by organizations operating in India.

2. Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan (VBSA) Bill, 2025

This education-related bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha in December 2025 and later referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee for detailed examination.

3. Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026

The bill is expected to update India’s income tax laws and improve the existing tax system.

4. Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026

This bill aims to amend the law related to the number of judges in the Supreme Court.

5. Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2026

The proposed amendment seeks to improve the legal framework for birth and death registration in India.

6. Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026

This bill proposes amendments to the law that protects India’s national symbols, including the National Flag and National Anthem.

7. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026

The bill aims to strengthen policies related to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and improve support for small businesses.

Why Is the Government Holding an All-Party Meeting

The government has invited leaders of all political parties to an all-party meeting on July 19. The meeting will help explain the legislative agenda and allow political parties to raise issues they want to discuss during the session. Such meetings are a regular parliamentary practice before every session.

What Is the Opposition’s Plan

Opposition parties are also preparing their strategy for the Monsoon Session. Leaders from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are expected to meet on the opening day of the session to coordinate their discussions. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has said the party will oppose the proposed Delimitation Bill if it is brought back in Parliament. He also said the Congress is likely to oppose the:
