Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Government has taken another major step towards hosting the Commonwealth Games 2030, with the proposed Board of Directors of the Games’ organising company holding a key meeting to discuss the roadmap, planning, and coordination required for the prestigious international multi-sport event.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi described the meeting as an important milestone in Gujarat’s preparations to successfully host the Commonwealth Games, which are scheduled to be held in October 2030.
Board Meeting Focuses on Roadmap for Commonwealth Games 2030
Sharing details on social media platform X, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said the proposed Board of Directors met to discuss the strategic roadmap, planning, and collaborative efforts needed to organize the global sporting event.
He said the meeting marks a significant step toward bringing the Commonwealth Games 2030 to Gujarat and reflects the state’s commitment to delivering a world-class sporting event.
According to Sanghavi, the government is working collectively to develop world-class sports infrastructure while creating greater opportunities for athletes.

Ahmedabad Confirmed as Host City for the 2030 Commonwealth Games
The meeting forms part of Gujarat’s preparations following the confirmation of Ahmedabad as the host city for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
The event will be particularly historic as it will mark the 100th edition (Centenary Edition) of the Commonwealth Games, making it one of the most significant editions in the event’s history.
India previously hosted the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010, and the 2030 edition will mark the country’s return as host after two decades.
