The infrastructure is expected to create permanent community assets while improving facilities for children, women and families in the identified areas.
Focus on Minority Community Development
Dr. Baljit Kaur said the projects are intended to support the social and economic empowerment of minority communities by strengthening facilities close to where people live.
“The infrastructure would create lasting community assets and improve the quality of childcare, educational and community services in the district.”

The minister said the initiative reflects the state’s broader emphasis on equitable development and ensuring that public infrastructure reaches underserved communities.
Strengthening Grassroots Services
The new Anganwadi centres are expected to strengthen local childcare and early-development services, while the additional classrooms will expand educational infrastructure in the identified areas.
The community complexes will provide additional spaces for local activities and public services, supporting community-level development in the four blocks.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to improving public infrastructure and ensuring that development benefits reach all sections of society.
The projects form part of the state’s wider development agenda under the Punjab government’s vision of a “Rangla Punjab.”
