New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, on Monday launched the IAS e-Civil List 2026 in New Delhi, describing it as an important digital tool for administrative planning, talent identification, and efficient deployment of human resources across government departments.
The launch marks another step in the government’s efforts to modernise public administration through technology-driven governance and aligns with the broader vision of Digital India.
Digital Database to Strengthen Governance
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jitendra Singh said technology-enabled databases have become crucial for effective governance and administrative decision-making.
He noted that the digital platform allows governments to identify officers possessing specific expertise, experience, and administrative capabilities required for various developmental and governance challenges.
According to the Minister, such databases help policymakers and administrators deploy the right officers to the right assignments, thereby improving governance outcomes and institutional efficiency.
“Technology-enabled databases can help governments identify officers with the appropriate expertise and administrative experience to meet diverse developmental requirements,” Dr. Singh said.
Shift from Print to Digital
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Dr. Singh said the transition from traditional printed publications to digital platforms reflects the government’s commitment to modernising administrative systems.
He emphasized that digitalisation not only improves accessibility and efficiency but also ensures better utilisation of public resources.
The move is consistent with the Centre’s broader agenda of leveraging technology to make governance more transparent, responsive, and efficient.
