The company announced that its High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Unit at Panipat Naphtha Cracker secured the first position globally in the Hostalen Global Benchmarking Survey 2025, while the Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) Unit at Gujarat Refinery became the first refinery/petrochemical plant in India to receive the CII GreenCo Silver Certification.

IndianOil’s Panipat HDPE Unit Tops Global Hostalen Benchmarking Survey
The HDPE Unit at Panipat Naphtha Cracker, IndianOil’s first refinery-integrated steam cracker complex, achieved the No. 1 global ranking in the Hostalen Global Benchmarking Survey 2025.
The survey was conducted by LyondellBasell, the technology licensor for Hostalen HDPE plants worldwide.
The Panipat unit achieved a 100% score in both Prime Grade Product Quality and Reliability categories, demonstrating excellence in:
- Manufacturing efficiency
- Process reliability
- Product quality
- Operational performance
This marks the second consecutive year that IndianOil’s Panipat HDPE Unit has secured the top global position, showcasing the company’s consistent focus on maintaining international manufacturing standards.
HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is a widely used polymer known for its strength and durability. It is used in applications such as pipes, blow moulding products, packaging materials, and various industrial products.
Gujarat Refinery LAB Unit Receives CII GreenCo Silver Certification
IndianOil’s Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) Unit at Gujarat Refinery has received the prestigious CII GreenCo Silver Certification, becoming the first refinery or petrochemical plant in India to achieve this recognition.
The certification has been awarded by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for excellence in sustainable manufacturing practices.
The GreenCo certification evaluates organisations based on areas such as:
- Efficient resource utilisation
- Environmental management
- Energy efficiency
- Waste reduction practices
- Adoption of green technologies
The recognition strengthens the sustainability credentials of IndianOil’s LAB products and enhances their competitiveness in the market.
LAB is an important chemical used in the production of detergents and soaps.
