In a significant development, four senior IPS officers from the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre have been empanelled for Inspector General (IG)-rank posts under the Government of India.
The empanelment makes them eligible for key leadership roles across central ministries, departments, and security agencies.

Officers Empanelled for IG-Rank Posts
The officers cleared for empanelment are:
- Vikramjit Singh
- Abdul Jabbar
- Sarah Rizvi
- Tejinder Singh
Recognition of Administrative and Policing Experience
The empanelment is seen as recognition of the officers’ distinguished service records and extensive experience in policing, security management, and public administration.
Their inclusion in the IG-level panel enables the Centre to consider them for senior assignments in various central government organisations and security establishments.
Boost for Former J&K Cadre Officers
The move is also being viewed as an important administrative milestone for officers belonging to the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre following the cadre restructuring after the reorganisation of the Union Territory.
