Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday carried out an administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting several IAS and JKAS officers with immediate effect in the interest of administration. The changes were notified through Government Order No. 938-JK(GAD) of 2026 issued by the General Administration Department (GAD).
The reshuffle includes important appointments in the Finance Department, Industries and Commerce Department, Information Technology Department, JaKeGA, and district administration.
Anil Banka Appointed Director Industries and Commerce, Kashmir
Anil Banka, who was serving as Special Secretary in the Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Director, Industries and Commerce, Kashmir.
He will take over the charge from Khalid Majeed, who has been directed to await further adjustment orders in the General Administration Department.
Mahima Madan Posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua
Mahima Madan, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Information Technology Department and also holding additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of JaKeGA and Director, Defence Labour Procurement, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kathua.
She replaces Vishavjeet Singh, who has also been asked to await further adjustment orders.
Asha Choudhary Malhotra Named CEO of JaKeGA
Asha Choudhary Malhotra, who was awaiting adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of JaKeGA.
She will also continue to hold the additional charge of Director, Defence Labour Procurement, Jammu and Kashmir, until further orders.
Mohd Raiyaz Posted as SDM Karnah-Tangdhar
Mohd Raiyaz, who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, has been transferred and posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Karnah-Tangdhar against an available vacancy.
Administrative Reshuffle to Strengthen Governance
The latest reshuffle reflects the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s continued efforts to strengthen governance and ensure efficient functioning across key departments. The appointments cover critical sectors such as industry, information technology, finance, e-governance, and district administration.
The movement of officers is expected to improve administrative coordination and accelerate the implementation of government programmes and public service delivery across the Union Territory.
