Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has carried out a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, assigning additional responsibilities to several senior IAS officers while transferring one officer to a new department. The changes were notified by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) on June 10.
The reshuffle comes amid ongoing administrative adjustments in the state and includes important assignments in the Home, Public Works, Transport, and Social Welfare departments.
Anjum Parwez Gets Additional Charge of Public Works Department
Senior IAS officer Anjum Parwez, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, has been entrusted with the concurrent charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD).
The move follows the transfer of Amlan Aditya Biswas, creating a vacancy in the crucial infrastructure-related department.
With this additional responsibility, Parwez will oversee two important portfolios linked to environmental governance and public infrastructure development.

Rajender Kumar Kataria Assigned Home Department Charge
Rajender Kumar Kataria, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Department, has been given the concurrent charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department.
The Home Department is among the most significant wings of the state administration, overseeing law and order, police administration, internal security, and disaster response mechanisms.
The additional assignment places Kataria in charge of two critical departments simultaneously.
Mohan Raj K.P. Shifted to Social Welfare Department
In the only major transfer order of the reshuffle, Mohan Raj K.P., Secretary, Housing Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Social Welfare Department.
He replaces Randeep D., who was holding the post as an additional charge arrangement.
Despite the transfer, Mohan Raj K.P. will continue to hold the concurrent charge of Secretary, Housing Departmentuntil further orders, ensuring continuity in the department’s functioning.
Selvamani R. Gets Additional Responsibility in KSRTC
Selvamani R., Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety, has been assigned the additional charge of Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
He replaces Akram Pasha in the role.
The appointment places him at the helm of Karnataka’s largest public transport undertaking while continuing to oversee transport regulation and road safety initiatives across the state.
2017-Batch IAS Officer Mahesh M. Gets New Posting
Dr. Mahesh M. (IAS:2017), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Managing Director, Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board (KUWSDB).
The appointment fills an existing vacancy in the organization responsible for planning and implementing urban water supply and sanitation projects across Karnataka.
The posting marks a significant assignment for the 2017-batch officer in the state’s urban infrastructure sector.
