Bengaluru Administration, Housing and State Corporations See Key Changes
One of the notable aspects of the reshuffle is the movement of officers between Bengaluru’s urban administration and the Karnataka Housing Board.
Latha R.’s appointment as Housing Board Commissioner has resulted in Mona Roat taking charge of the Additional Commissioner (Development) position in Bengaluru North.
Similarly, Dayananda K. A.’s movement from the Housing Board to the Backward Classes Welfare Department has enabled a change in leadership at the housing institution.
The government has also filled several positions in state-run corporations by assigning officers who had been awaiting postings.
Archana M. S. has been placed in charge of KSMCL, Venkat Raja has been given the Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation, and KAS officer Sayeeda Aisha has been appointed to lead KSSIDC.
These appointments cover different areas of Karnataka’s economic administration, including minerals, traditional textiles and small industries.
Horticulture and Sugar Departments Get New Leadership
The reshuffle also brings changes to two departments closely associated with Karnataka’s agricultural economy.
Venkatesh T. has been appointed Director of Horticulture and National Horticulture Mission, while outgoing Horticulture Director Ibrahim Maigur has been transferred as Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar.
The Horticulture Department plays a role in agricultural diversification, horticultural development and farmer-oriented programmes.
Meanwhile, the cane development and sugar administration deals with a sector that has considerable economic importance for sugarcane growers and the sugar industry.
The changes place new officers in charge of both administrative areas.
Five IAS Officers Awaiting Postings Receive New Assignments
Another significant feature of the transfer exercise is the assignment of new responsibilities to five IAS officers who were awaiting posting orders.
These officers are Krishna Bajpai, Archana M. S., Venkat Raja, Venkatesh T. and Mona Roat.
They have now been placed in the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal, Karnataka State Minerals Corporation, Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation, Horticulture Department and Bengaluru North City Corporation, respectively.
