Mumbai: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has informed the stock exchanges that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has appointed K.M. Ravi Kumar as a Non-Official (Independent) Director on the company’s Board.
The appointment was communicated through a Ministry of Defence letter dated August 21, 2026.
K.M. Ravi Kumar Appointed for Three Years
According to the company’s regulatory disclosure, Kumar will serve for a period of three years from the date of notification of his appointment, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
However, the appointment is subject to the activation of his Director Identification Number.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders said that the DIN activation application of K.M. Ravi Kumar is currently under process.
The company will intimate the effective date of his appointment once the required formalities are completed.

Appointment Made by Ministry of Defence
The appointment has been made by the Ministry of Defence, which exercises administrative control over Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders.
The company disclosed the appointment to the stock exchanges in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The disclosure was submitted to both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE).
Further Director Disclosures to Follow
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders stated that additional disclosures concerning the newly appointed director will be provided after the appointment becomes effective.
The company will make the required disclosures in accordance with applicable SEBI regulations.
The regulatory communication dated August 24, 2026, was signed by Lalatendu Acharya, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders.

The appointment of K.M. Ravi Kumar as a Non-Official (Independent) Director adds to the company’s Board governance structure.
